Inspiration
Many of the places and brands referenced in Vulnerable Edges are real and I drew much inspiration from them and the city of New York itself. New York City is an amazing and wondrous place full of opportunity and adventure and for me, it became a character unto itself. I could feel its energy and driving rhythm as I was writing. I wanted to share with you some of the things that inspired me as I created Cole and Mason's journey to love and acceptance.*

01
Versace
As anyone knows, Versace inevitably makes a bold statement in the fashion industry, creating unique styles like the remarkable piece (image left) that inspired Mason's new year's eve dress. Since 1978, Versace has been defining haute couture and the very meaning of fashion forward.

The Pub
The New York pub that inspired the one in the book where Mason and Cole met and subsequently spent many hours was the Broome Street Bar in SoHo. There are several lovely English pubs in New York City and if you're an anglophile like I am, here is a good list of them for the next time you visit the City.

The Equinox Hotel
I was so incredibly impressed with this hotel that I simply HAD to use it to bring Cole's two most important people together in Vulnerable Edges. While the description in the book is close to the reality of staying at the Equinox, there is absolutely no way to adequately put into words the magnificent beauty of this hotel. The Equinox is a truly unique luxury experience. Click the image to learn more.

The Music
In a way, Mason's little music and lyrics game is very similar to how my brain works on a daily basis. I constantly think in lyrics! Music has been a driving force in my life as well as inspiration for some of the best events I've ever experienced. Here are links to the playlist that lent inspiration to me while I was creating this love story. I sincerely hope the music inspires you too.
